The Red Bull esports channel approached Jelly to provide social media content and coverage for an upcoming eight day World of Warcraft event; ‘Race to World’s first: Mythic Battle of Dazar’alor’ which took place from January 30th to February 6th 2019.
The aim was to migrate the passionate and sizeable fanbase for WOW and engage them with the Red Bull esports channel. Our strategy was to provide ongoing content and coverage for the duration of the event. During this time Jelly oversaw the gaming streams, utilising coverage to design and compose organic and responsive content such as image assets and clipped videos.
One of the key challenges of this project was providing consistently fresh and engaging content, especially as the players had to repeat the same gaming processes many times over in order to develop strategies to defeat the game’s bosses. This required extra creativity on our part to keep coverage and our content interesting and entertaining. By utilising back stage photos and short videos we were able to uphold appeal consistently in the event, sustaining traffic across the raid.
In the end over 100,000 viewers saw premier esports guild Method be the first to take down the final boss Lady Jaina Proudmoore, and Jellymedia complete another successful social media event take over.
