Metal Gear Solid.
Social Media, PR, Events and Design
“I’m just a man an agency who’s good at what he does.” Metal Gear is a genre-defining series, stacked full of iconic phrases, characters and storylines so, naturally, it requires AAA support for its creative activity; We’re proud to have provided that through a combination of social media and community management, audience engagement, public relations, and event coordination for well over a decade.
When it comes to video game marketing support, we’ve done it all in our time working on the Metal Gear franchise. We’ve designed, built and staffed stands for large industry events like EGX, E3 and gamescom; we’ve worked with content creators and cosplayers ranging from the core MG community right through to global names like PewDiePie; and we’ve worked in partnership with brands like BAFTA and Endemol to deliver Metal Gear activations on the grandest of stages.

The key thing for us, whatever we’ve been doing, has always been to remember the significance of the brand and the emotive connections that it comes with. There’s so much creativity, so much lore, that has been carefully constructed in the world of MGS over a period of 35+ years, that it has enabled us to get truly creative with every facet of our activations. The Demon is in the detail; when we took Ground Zeroes to BAFTA’s Inside Games event we made sure the chairs were decked out “Orange” cardboard boxes, whilst the gamescom stand for The Phantom Pain was a faithful recreation of the game’s Mother Base setup.

This “in-the-know” approach to brands is a core principle of our working style, regardless of the platform. Our social media teams and designers are experts on the complex history of Metal Gear (which is the same for all of the titles we work on); we don’t ever just want to messaging to be seen, we use our working knowledge of the game to inspire fans to engage with all key messages, be that in the form of a large public stand, or social media post.

With the upcoming releases of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater our teams can’t wait to get to grips with Snake once again… he may have kept us waiting – but he’s always worth the wait!
